It's up to you to be the bigger man in these situations. Figuratively, anyway. Poor guy is at the mercy of his own less than ideal circumstances... you need to nurture him, show him the way to his highest peak. He’s an artist after all. That kind of vulnerability requires firm guidance with gentle hands. You'll have to do better next time.
