Posted on 9 January 2026 by MilesHey all! Miles here. Hope you all had a lovely holiday season and a happy New Years, but today I’m here to wish you a very Happy “One of our like 8-billion 108 days” Day!
As promised, we had a lovely update cooked up for you all; did you like the heartwarming antics? The silly games, the tickles? The cinema? The violence? The grueling road to recovery that accompanies being nearly sucked into the vacuum of space? Well we certainly hope you did, because as always we had a blast making it.
There’s not too much to today’s newspost, but I want to reiterate something I mentioned last time: we’re going to be taking an approximately 1-monthish Posting Hiatus as of This Very Update, and the pace once updates resume may be slightly slower (around what it has been now, 1 or 2 updates a month) until we’re able to hit our next Big Ol’ Milestone, before which will probably come another production pause. I know it’s hard to go without HS:BC for too long, so we’re going to be trying to make sure we space it out as well as we can so nobody has to suffer. But in the long run, the anticipation’s gonna be worth it, because as you can probably tell there’s some more cool stuff creeping over the horizon and it hopefully won’t take too long to get it to you. I already said in the last newspost that there’s gonna be another cool [S] page, so I don’t know why I’m being so coy about it. I guess... because being coy is fun. Oh actually I guess I should probably clarify that today’s [S] page wasn’t the one I’m referring to. It’s another one.
At any rate, however, as much as I’d love to just work us all into the grave and produce this comic at the most high-octane speeds imaginable (we actually ended up having an impromptu work session that lasted until four in the morning last night. Er, this morning? From last night to this morning?) I want to re-emphasize that keeping this production going sustainably is what keeps us able to consistently put out a comic that we’re proud of, so I need to hold the work/life balance of my team sacred for a little bit! Especially because despite it being the holidays, a lot of us ended up doing comic work anyways on account of we’re addicted to it and we can’t stop. We need... a little breathing room from our own work ethic, and this next section of the comic is pretty high effort so we wanna make sure we do it right!
So, as always, thank you so much for your readership, your patience, and your support, all of which give us the ability to do something so fun and rewarding that over the last week of the year I was missing it despite surfing gorgeous sunlit beaches in a tropical paradise, thinking to myself “I can’t wait to get home from partying so I can get back to making this awesome comic I love.”
Love you guys, and so excited to show you what’s coming in HS:BC in 2026!
